Lamasco Hosting Online Virtual Happy Hour Saturday Night
Local bars and restaurants are some of the hardest hit businesses of the coronavirus crisis. All have been forced by their state governments to close their dining rooms to the public to help slow the spread of the disease, leaving owners to shift their focus to carryout orders only. While that has helped to a degree, many owners still find themselves scrambling to find other ways to make money. Two of the more popular restaurants on Franklin Street have come up with a way to do just that — by taking the party to the people since the people can't go to the party.
Amy Word, owner of both establishments, posted on Facebook Tuesday that both her restaurants will host a "Virtual Happy Hour" Saturday night.
The party starts at 5:30 p.m., and will feature live music from Kenna Elpers. Guests (i.e. you) are encouraged to BYOB and snacks to watch the performance from the safe, social distance of their homes.
You must first purchase a ticket, which can be done through Eventbrite. All tickets are just $4 each. On the morning of the event, you'll receive an e-mail with a link to click on that will take you to the video chat room.
All money from the ticket sales will go directly to the Lamasco and Amy's on Franklin staffs to help them through this trying time.
