Callie’s Savory “Cinnamon” Rolls That Aren’t Cinnamon at All
The Usual Thanksgiving Lineup
We all know the usual suspects that show up on the Thanksgiving table. You’ve got the turkey, the stuffing, some kind of potato situation, green beans, rolls, and of course—pie. Pumpkin, apple, pecan… the classics.
Thanksgiving Has No Rules
But here’s the fun thing about Thanksgiving: **you can do whatever you want.**
You want to swap the turkey for prime rib? Go for it. You want mac and cheese instead of mashed potatoes? Live your truth. There are truly *no rules* when it comes to holiday food.
How I Found My New Favorite Dish
Now, me being the little kitchen experimenter that I am, I love to mix things up. If I find a new recipe that actually turns out delicious, I immediately want to share it with everyone I love. And that’s exactly how I stumbled onto my new favorite Thanksgiving creation.
The Recipe That Hooked Me
One day I’m scrolling through social media, minding my business, and I see this girl making what she called **“savory cinnamon rolls.”** And let me tell you—there is nothing cinnamon about these things. Not even a sprinkle. But they looked amazing, so obviously I had to make them. And after one bite I thought, *oh yeah… I’m making a TikTok about this, and my family is getting a batch for Thanksgiving.*
I walk through the recipe in the TikTok, but in case you’d rather skip watching me figure this out in real time, here’s the recipe written out nice and easy. (Although I *will* say the video is worth the watch.)
Savory “Cinnamon” Rolls Recipe
Ingredients - Makes 6 rolls
•1 puff pastry sheet
•1 pack of prosciutto (I use extra because… well, I am who I am)
•1 block of brie
•2 tbsp fig preserves
•1 tsp hot honey
•Fresh chives
Directions
1. Preheat your oven to 400°
2. Lay out your puff pastry while the oven heats.
3. On one half of the pastry, spread out the entire pack of prosciutto.
4. Add thin slices of brie on top of the prosciutto.
5. On the other half of the pastry, spread your fig preserves and drizzle on the hot honey.
6. Finely chop your chives and sprinkle them over everything.
7. Roll the pastry up, cut into six pieces, and place them on a baking sheet.
8. Bake for 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
9. Let them cool… and then enjoy every fancy, flaky bite.
A New Family Favorite
