This App Lets You Rent a Local Backyard Pool, No Maintenance Required
Do you have any idea how much it costs to install an in-ground pool? Yeah, I don't either, so I did a little research and got some serious sticker shock.
Average Swimming Pool Installation Cost
According to pool-cost data from infoingroundpool.com tailored to Indiana:
• Vinyl-liner pools: $30,000–$50,000
• Fiberglass pools: $45,000–$65,000
• Concrete (gunite) pools: $50,000–$75,000+
Now, keep in mind that this is just the installation. This does not include the decking or any other curb appeal to go along with your fancy pool. Oh, and the upkeep, yikes! The chemicals, cleaning, and maintenance add up every summer season.
Rent a Pool Oasis with Swimply
Swimply is an app that works like Airbnb, but you are just renting a residential pool. So, you can actually have your own pool party, without the high cost of owning your own swimming pool.
Have a Pool? Rent it Out
If you have an amazing pool and backyard area, you can help pay for it by signing up to rent it out with Swimply. This is still a fairly new service, and you can set your own house rules and pricing.
The question of insurance and liability immediately popped into my head. According to Swimply, hosting through their service provides you with a one-million-dollar general liability policy.

Example of a Real Pool for Rent in Evansville, IN
There are only four or five listings on Swimply with pools for rent in the Evansville area. One that really stands out to me is the Suburban Oasis that is hosted by Meggie.
