I grew up in Princeton, Indiana, which is about a 30-minute drive from Evansville. The current population of Princeton is just over 8,000, so you can imagine that there are not a lot of shopping options. Now, we have learned that the town will be losing a popular grocery store.

Buehler's Buy Low - Back in The Day

When I was in high school, all of the cool kids worked at Buehler's Buy Low off of West Broadway. I remember wanting to work there and become a part of that group. I eventually did, and even though I was out of high school, it was still a great experience.

One of the best parts of working and shopping at Buehler's, now IGA, was the focus on customer service. You didn't have to worry about self-checkout or bagging your own groceries. Princeton IGA Closing

Buehler's Buy Low has been renamed and reset many times over the years. It is currently IGA. One thing that hasn't changed is the delicious fried chicken from the deli. Now that Princeton residents know that IGA is closing on June 14, 2025, in addition to losing another shopping option, there is a sadness for the chicken that you can't find anywhere else. You can find it in Evansville, but that is quite a drive.
