Up in Northern Indiana, Pokagon State Park has somehow cracked the code on guaranteed winter fun with its legendary Toboggan Run - a tradition families have been enjoying for more than 85 years. And the best part is, you don’t need a single snowflake for this ride.

What Makes Pokagon’s Toboggan Run So Unique?

You climb a 30-foot tower with your friends or family, hop onto a sturdy toboggan, and launch yourself down a 90-foot vertical drop. In seconds, you’re reaching speeds up to 40 miles per hour as you zip along a quarter-mile refrigerated track. Yes, refrigerated. That means the Toboggan Run is always ready, whether Indiana decides to snow or not. Each ride lasts about 30 seconds, but trust us, your adrenaline will be pumping long after that.

The Toboggan Run is Affordable Winter Fun for Everyone

The Toboggan Run won’t break the bank, either. For just $20 an hour, you can slide as many times as your heart (and legs) can handle. That’s a whole lot of thrill for not a lot of cash.

The Toboggan Run opens for the season on November 28, 2025, and stays open through March 1, 2026. Regular hours are Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with bonus hours during winter break, plus special openings on New Year’s Day, MLK Day, and Presidents Day.
