New Evansville Splash Pad Will Be the Largest in Indiana!
A brand-new splash pad is coming to Iglehart Park in Evansville, and it's expected to be the largest in the entire state of Indiana! If that doesn't have your kids (and us big kids) excited, just wait until you hear the details.
A Major Upgrade For Iglehart Park
The new attraction is headed to the former Lloyd Pool site on the north side of town – a space that so many Evansville residents grew up loving. Construction is kicking off this month, with the goal of having everything ready by late summer, just in time to make some serious warm-weather memories.
Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry summed it up perfectly…
We are committed to making sure every neighborhood has access to safe, beautiful parks. This project brings new life to a space so many families remember and reimagines it for the next generation. It’s about creating something special on the north side that families can enjoy all summer long and take pride in for years to come.
Designed For Families Of All Ages
The splash pad itself is thoughtfully designed with everyone in mind. There's a dedicated toddler zone for little kiddos, a mixed-use area for the whole crew to enjoy together, and a separate zone specifically for kids ages 5 to 12. Best of all, the entire space will be fully ADA accessible, so every family can join in the fun.
When The Splash Pad Will Open
The splash pad will run seasonally from May through October, open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. A new restroom facility is also part of the project – and unlike the splash pad, it'll stay open all year.
Future phases of the project will include shaded seating areas, benches, trees, and a wildflower meadow that'll make the whole space feel like a genuine community gem.

This project is funded through the $24 million Parks Bond that Evansville voters approved in 2024. ARC Construction is overseeing the build, with splash pad equipment coming from PlayPros.
