New Evansville Goodwill Opens In Washington Square Mall Indiana

Evansville Goodwill has officially opened its doors to a brand-new store in the former Sears wing of the Washington Square Mall. This exciting expansion marks a significant milestone for the organization, which has been serving the tri-state community for many years.

Goodwill is More Than Just Thrifting

With 14 stores across three states, Evansville Goodwill is committed to helping people, families, and communities thrive through the power of relationships, education, and work. A portion of every dollar spent at their stores directly supports their mission and programs, including the GoodSkills Academy, GoodGuide Program, WORK Solutions, SCSEP, and The Excel Center Evansville Southeast.

The Excel Center: A Second Chance at Education

In addition to the new store, the expanded facility at the Washington Square Mall also houses The Excel Center Evansville Southeast. This free adult high school offers a second chance to obtain an Indiana Core 40 high school diploma, along with supportive services such as on-site childcare, transportation assistance, Life Coaches, and opportunities to earn industry-recognized certifications.

The Excel Center is committed to meeting students where they are in their educational journey, regardless of their reading level or number of credits. With its focus on providing the support needed to succeed, the Excel Center is helping students achieve their goals and build brighter futures.

Grand Opening Celebration

Anytime a new Goodwill opens, it is a pretty big deal. Thrifting is huge right now, and with prizes and games, you can expect the new Evansville Goodwill to be 'poppin' all weekend!

Please keep in mind that our store has limited capacity so expect wait times as we work to maintain a safe shopping experience for all! All activities will be set up out front to keep the fun going for those waiting to enter.

Then & Now - Evansville's Washington Square Mall Through the Years

Evansville is home to a lot of unique buildings including the first enclosed retail shopping center in Indiana. Yes, our very own Washington Square Mall was the place to be when it opened in 1963. If you walk through the mall today, you would never guess how alive the shops were, even through the 1980s. Enjoy this walk down memory lane I've put together, and maybe someday there will be new life inside 5011 Washington Ave.
