New research by MattressNextDay reveals how financial stress impacts us all. The study ranked states based on household debt-to-income ratios, bankruptcy rates, unemployment, poverty rates, consumer spending per capita, health issues, and more.
Based on the results, Kentucky leads the nation in sleep loss because of financial stress. Residents face the highest levels of financial stress, with mounting debt, rising poverty rates, unemployment issues, and economic instability contributing to many sleepless nights.
"Kentucky ranks as the state most impacted by the ‘January debt hangover,’ with a score of 57.8 out of 100 in the analysis. Despite having a relatively low debt-to-income ratio of 1.15, one of the lowest on the list, Kentucky performs poorly across several other key metrics.", the study reveals
