I love to swim. Oh, who am I kidding? I love being in the water. If I get neck deep and just hang out and chat with whoever's joining me, that'll work, too--whether I actually swim or not.

One of my favorite experiences in the water happened while visiting a friend in Dallas several years ago. We all got in his pool and so did his dogs. It's the first time I'd ever swum with an animal--that I know of(!)--and it brought a whole new vibe to the experience. If you bring your dog to Combest Pool in Owensboro this Sunday, you can experience that vibe for yourself.

Owensboro Parks & Recreation's 'Gone to the Dogs!' This Weekend

And since we're embarking on the final week of Combest Pool being open, now's the time to take advantage of one last trip into the water...and this time with your furry friend. Combest Pool will open Sunday, August 4th, at 1 PM. "Gone to the Dogs!" happens at 6 PM.

It is a rain or shine event, and pet owners get in free. It's your DOGS that will have to cough up $10 apiece, so cruise through at ATM before you get there. You're also encouraged to bring a small bag of dog food which will be donated to the Owensboro Humane Society or the Daviess County Animal Shelter. There will also be prize giveaways and special displays from local pet stores and veterinarians.

Tell me this does not look like an absolute blast.

From 6 PM until 8 PM this Sunday night, Combest Pool in Owensboro will "go to the dogs." Leashes are required outside of the pool area.
