An Update on the Next Kentucky/Indiana Winter Storm

My daily view of the world can be seen through six large windows to my left and two large windows in front of me. And it's all white, with the exception of the gray and black asphalt. Honestly, it's kind of a nice view, but so is a postcard with the same imagery.

When the roads are not affected, I don't have a problem with snow. When there's already a whole bunch of snow on the ground that I know isn't going anywhere anytime soon, I have problems with snow. But the snow doesn't care, and it's ready for the next round. As you likely already know, Kentucky and Indiana are under a second winter storm watch this week, but this time, they're telling us that ice will not be an issue. I, for one, am breathing easier over that bit of news.

Winter Storm Cora Update

Okay, let's get to the maps. Remember when I said that the snow isn't going anywhere. This is what I meant, and it's certainly not good news for folks still without power.

Winter Storm Cora should start landing on our "shores" Thursday night. A winter weather advisory, winter storm watch, and winter storm warning are currently the story for various parts of the tri-state area.

At this point, ANY new snow is wearying, but, in case you were wondering, it takes four inches of the white stuff for the event to be declared a winter storm. And sure 'nuff...

As for timing, Missouri and Illinois will get the party started around 9 PM before Winter Storm Cora moves into Kentucky and Indiana.

Again, though, I take comfort in knowing that it's an all-snow event that's been predicted, and ice and sleet have been left out of the equation. Of course, for many, that may be COLD comfort considering what's already on the ground.
