Popular ‘Summer Fest’ Returns to Owensboro, KY with Fun Changes
Last year, My Sister's Keeper, Owensboro's newest emergency shelter for women and children, held its inaugural Summer Fest fundraiser at The Cottage, just outside the city limits. Summer Fest 2023 was an all day food and music festival that raised money for the shelter, which opened earlier this year at 2820 4th Street. This year, the hours of Summer Fest have been scaled back, but the event is still going to be action-packed- from start to finish- with food, fun and entertainment.
Summer Fest 2024 is set for 5pm, Saturday, July 27th. The Cottage, at 6869 Hwy 56, is again hosting the event. This year's celebration will include music, food trucks, an outdoor movie, a kids area and fun giveaways.
Here's a look at some of the highlights:
Stephen Farms will be joining the fundraising efforts for the second year in a row. They'll be on hand cooking up 'delicious pork chop sandwiches and more.' They will also be providing a hayride for adults and children.
Kona Ice will be on hand as well!
And this is exciting. Summer Fest proudly welcomes Basil's Food Truck, one of the co-champions of Owensboro Burger Week 2024.
Plus, The Corporate Hippie will be on hand offering FREE face painting and nostalgic carnival games and prizes. The Event Kode will be there too- with inflatables!
The cost to attend Summer Fest 2024 is just $10 per family and 100% of the proceeds will benefit My Sister's Keeper.
