You may be inspired this New Year to volunteer or donate to local non-profits. Not only will you be helping others, but you'll feel good about doing it too. It's easier than ever now too. Especially if you make plans to drive through Glenn Funeral Home's Give & Go event today.

Each month, the folks at Glenn's choose a non-profit organization for which to collect donations. I've had the pleasure of attending Glenn's Give & Go events at the end of 2024 to benefit the Daviess County Animal Shelter and Beverly's Hearty Slice.

Glenn's has a crew that spends the day collecting donations at 900 Old Hartford Rd. here in Owensboro.  All folks have to do is just drive under the awning to the right of the building (there are signs to guide you) and drop off your items.

The Daniel Pitino Shelter of Owensboro

This month's non-profit is The Daniel Pitino Shelter which is a safe and secure place for women, women with children, and families experiencing homelessness. Housing Stabilization programs and community resource referrals are also available. Serving the community for over thirty years, the needs are greater than ever.
The good news is, you can help! Look through your cabinets or bring any of the following to Glenn's Give & Go this month:
  • Canned Goods
  • Gloves
  • Hats
  • Socks
  • Hygiene Products
  • Twin Sized Bed Sheets
  • Flip Flops for Shower Shoes
  • Hair Brushes

When is Glenn's Give & Go?

Drive-thru donations will be accepted at the funeral home from 10 AM - 2 PM on February 5th. I'll be there broadcasting live and helping unload cars.  If you can't make it next week, but still want to give, donations can be dropped off inside the funeral home until February 12th.
