Fall Lovers Rejoice! Record High Temperatures in Kentucky & Indiana to Plummet This Weekend

I really should know better than to trust the first round of cooler temperatures as we transition from Summer to Fall. It never fails that I am always royally disappointed as things heat back up for that last burst of Summer temps that inevitably creep back in for a minute. It happened again this year when we had some cool spells at the beginning of September.

I can't tell you how many times in the past I have been so excited for "Sweata Weatha" that I have worn my coziest woven pullover only to be dripping sweat by lunchtime.

This year was even more of a whiplash of an "Indian Summer" because it hasn't just been warm, it's been HOT. How am I supposed to pick pumpkins and get into the Spooky Season mood when it is literally 90 degrees outside? All of the leaves on the trees are like "Can we please speed this up already? We've got kids waiting and wanting to jump in our piles!" I'm thankful for Reid's Orchard Apple Slushies so we can enjoy the season and still cool off.

Ron Rhodes has been telling us for the past few days that temperatures over the weekend and the beginning of this week in Kentucky and Indiana have been way above average. Typically we are seeing average temperatures in the 70s by this time of year.

But never you fear! The magical drop to cooler days is so close I can almost smell it. Seriously though, you know what I mean? Fall has a special smell. Cool air, damp leaves, smoky firepit and S'mores, freshly carved pumpkins. I should go into naming candles for Yankee Candle Co.

Thank goodness we are going to see relief after today! Now, the cool front will be escorted in thanks to some showers on Thursday, but I think we can all deal with that, right? Come this weekend, we can stop roasting ourselves and get to roasting marshmallows.
