Fairy Tale Trail Returns to Owensboro — Youth Presenters Needed
Having just wrapped Theatre Workshop of Owensboro's 'Summer Shorts', I am familiar with all the wonderful opportunities they offer kids during the summertime.
In the midst of our 'Summer Shorts' rehearsals, other theatre stalwarts were and have been working feverishly in preparation for the opening of The Dinosaur Musical on September 6th at the Empress Theater in downtown Owensboro. The cast includes roles for teens.
By way of The Penguin Project, 101 Dalmatians, Kids will be performed August 31st and September 1st at the Daviess County High School auditorium.
And on September 28th, Jim Lambert's Pioneer Village at Yellow Creek Park will host Theatre Workshop's 'Fairy Tale Trail'. This unique opportunity allows kids aged 10 to 18 to write their own monologues and then perform them on the walking trail at Pioneer Village. The director will assist participants in writing their pieces.
If you have a child that might be interested but aren't sure what sort of monologues they could be inspired to write, take a look at some of the prep work for last year's event.
If your child or teen is interested in participating, you must register by August 16th. Once monologues are approved, rehearsals will begin on August 19th and will take place on Tuesday or Thursday depending on the participant's schedule preference.
And that will be the schedule until the performance on September 28th. Click here to fill out the registration form.
When it comes to kids and Theatre Workshop of Owensboro, summer never seems to end.
