Breast Cancer Statistics

It is estimated that one in every eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer at some point in her life. While most cases occur after the age of 50 it is suggested to start getting yearly mammograms in your 40s. This can help to catch it early and keep it from spreading. According to Kentucky Tracking Kentucky has averaged around 1,645 new cases of breast cancer per year between 2010 and 2014, and rates have remained steady over recent decades. The American Cancer Society estimates that around 297,790 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in women in 2023.
