Laliste's Top 1000 Hotels List Just Dropped
The global rankings website Laliste.com just released its Top 1000 Hotels in the World. Yeah, you read that right, one thousand hotels. Who had the time to rank them all? I'm not sure, but major props to them for doing it.

The Only U.S. Hotel in the Global Top 10? It's in Chicago
Only one American hotel cracked the top ten on that list, and yes, it's in the Midwest. It's The Peninsula, a legendary luxury staple of Chicago, that folks in the Windy City all know, out-of-towners dream about, and business execs use their expense accounts at this type of hotel.
The Peninsula: Luxury, Technology, and High Praise
The Peninsula scored a near-perfect 99.5 with Laliste calling the hotel "prestigious" and an "architectural statement piece that delivers Asian service philosophy within distinctly American spaces," while also adding the rooms are "among the most technologically advanced in the world." I have heard about the rooms at The Peninsula, and it's worth staying there just for the way the lights turn on and off.
