Dead Body Floating in an Illinois River is Found By Fisherman
A man fishing in a river near Rockford discovered something he never wanted to find on Sunday night (5/12).
According to a press release from the Winnebago County Coroner's Office, a man was fishing on the Rock River near Rockford when he observed a body floating in the river around 5:37 pm on Sunday.

The Coroner's office responded to the scene on the Rock River just north of the US 20 Bypass around 6:16 pm on Sunday.
Rockford Fire Department personnel assisted in removing the body from the Rock River and the Coroner's Office officially pronounced the individual deceased at 7:20 pm.
The Winnebago County Coroner's Office has completed an autopsy and revealed that the body is of a deceased male, but further details weren't available at the time this story was published.
As the Coroner's office works on identifying the body, the Winnebago Sheriff's Office released a statement asking that If anyone has information about the shooting, please contact the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Detective Bureau at 815-319-6300.
