When I scrolled through the list to find Illinois' top spot, I was happy to find a fried chicken restaurant I had never been to.

LoveFood says the state's best fried chicken joint is Honey Butter Fried Chicken in Glencoe.

For crispy, juicy, flavorful chicken and show-stopping sandwiches, head to Honey Butter Fried Chicken. This diner serves up a wide range of sandwiches, as well as dishes like Buffalo mac 'n' cheese and fried chicken with French toast. But the main attraction here is the signature fried chicken meal, served with honey butter and corn muffins.

The restaurant scores a 3.6 out of 5 on Yelp.

Peter K. said the Honey Buffalo Fried Chicken Sandwich is "literally the best sandwich I have ever tasted."

Located at 668 Vernon Avenue, it might be a bit of a haul for Rockford residents.
