Start 2026 With The YMCA Fit For All Open House
YMCA Starts New Year With Open House
It's no secret that the YMCA has plenty of offerings to start your new year off on the right, healthy foot. Just in case you've never experienced the joy that is the YMCA, they're having an open house to allow the community to come check out what they've been missing. Saturday, January 3rd, from 7-11:30 am, will be the 11th year of the Fit4All event, held at both local YMCA locations. YMCA membership is not required to attend this open house event, as this is meant for the community to come check out what the YMCA has to offer. What do they have to offer? Free classes offered throughout the day include boxing fitness, youth self-defense classes, guided meditation, body combat, body pump, RPM cycling, STEM activities, kids' power circuit, biddy basketball, thrive, hot flow yoga, zumba, ninjanastics, a floating sound bath, and so much more!
YMCA Resolution Booster Advice
Making New Year's resolutions is one of the oldest traditions we still have. Millions of Americans set goals or New Year's resolutions every year, and every year we all struggle to hold to them or accomplish them. Sticking to them is hard, and the YMCA knows this. While there is no correct way or specific secret to keeping a resolution, the YMCA has some solid advice to help you stay motivated:
1. Start small - Break those big resolutions into small, achievable goals. “’Getting healthy’ is too broad so reframe that big resolution into smaller, more manageable goals.
2. Take it one step at a time - Trying to change too many habits at once can easily lead to frustration. Focus on one change per month and add another small change when a new month begins.
3. Keep the faith - Don’t get discouraged by setbacks. Be patient and give yourself grace. Bad habits aren’t created in a week, and they can’t be changed in a week either.
4. It’s all about attitude - Think about what you’re gaining from a resolution rather than what you’re missing. This makes a resolution feel more positive and achievable.
5. Talk it out - It’s easier to stick to resolutions with a partner, friend and support system working toward similar goals. Team up with someone to set your goals and help each other establish a game plan to achieve them.
