Have you ever tried the most Googled hot dog in Kentucky? I've never even heard of it.

It's that time of year when folks will be firing up their grill for cookouts with friends and family, especially with the 4th of July being this week. One of the most popular foods that people make is hot dogs. The hot dogs being made at the July 4th BBQ are almost always straight from the grill to the hot dog bun. Pretty basic, really. Once you have your hot dog, you can choose from whatever condiments are available, and off you go. Personally, I prefer a hot dog with some chili and cheese on top of it. I could eat those all day.

Google posted a map of the top "hot dog style" each state is googling more than other states.  Most aren't too surprising, they are pretty common. However, some states are Googling hot dogs that I've never even heard of before. That happens to be the case when it comes to the most Googled hot dog in Kentucky.

Kentucky's Most Searched Hot Dog for July 4th

The most searched-for hot dog in Kentucky is a Sonoran hot dog. Now, I have lived in Kentucky in the past and indulged in plenty of hot dogs during that time. I don't recall anyone ever bringing up a Sonoran hot dog. Heck, I don't even know what that means. If you're like me and have never heard of this hot dog, here's what it is according to the ever-trusted, Wikipedia:

The Sonoran hot dog is a style of hot dog that originated in Hermosillo, the capital of the Mexican state of Sonora, in the late 1980s. It is popular in Tucson, Phoenix, and elsewhere in southern Arizona. It consists of a hot dog that is wrapped in bacon and grilled, served on a bolillo-style hot dog bun, and topped with pinto beans, onions, tomatoes, and a variety of additional condiments, often including mayonnaise, mustard, and jalapeño salsa.

Okay, so having learned that, you had me at bacon-wrapped hot dog. It really doesn't sound too bad at all. That being said, do you think that this is as popular in Kentucky as Google says it is? You can take a look at the map below to see each state's most Googled hot dog. It might give you some good ideas for your 4th of July cookout!
