If you've ever wanted to name your pets after elements of a charcuterie board, this sweet guy would be a great place to start! Meet our Pet of the Week!

Animals With Food-Themed Names

I used to babysit for a family that had the best animal names.  All of their pets had food-themed names, and I always found it adorably hilarious.  They had a cat named Velveeta,  another cat named Chili, and a dog named Mousse.  I love a good theme!

Now, stick with me here. Have you ever considered a charcuterie board theme for your pet's name?  Hear me out, our adoptable Pet of the Week through the Vanderburgh Humane Society this week is an adorable cat named Prosciutto.  So you could start with Prosciutto.  The next thing you know you get a white cat, meet Gouda.  Then you find yourself with a black cat, hello Olive! And before you know it you have a whole charcuterie of adorable pets!

Okay, maybe I'm overthinking this, and you definitely do NOT have to take it that far, but it's just an idea to maybe stick in your back pocket for a rainy day.  Anyways, let's get into it and meet our VHS Pet of the Week, Prosciutto!

The VHS Has Cats, Dogs, and Other Animals

Maybe you aren't in a place where you can get another cat at the moment, maybe you are looking for a dog or something smaller.  The VHS has a wide variety of animals, or as Kendall Paul likes to say All Makes and Models!

Our friends at the VHS are currently struggling with kitten season and are overloaded with cats and kittens, so if you're thinking of getting a furry family member to add to your home (of the Prosciutto variety or otherwise) please check local shelters first.  If there is a particular dog breed you want, there's a good chance one of those dogs is already at a shelter here locally.  Please consider adopting your next pet.
