For those of us from the Owensboro area, we have a few of those in town. In fact, one of those was actually selected as the best cult-favorite restaurant in the entire state of Kentucky. That restaurant...Big Dipper.

For those who have not indulged in the deliciousness that is the Big Dipper in Owensboro, Kentucky...you are missing out! They have some of the best burgers that I have ever had in my entire life. Oh, and that chilli...amazing! Big Dipper has been around since the 50s, and there's a reason why they have stood the test of time. Many local restaurants have come and gone, but Big Dipper is an Owensboro staple that can't be beat. Whether you order through the drive-thru or at the window, the fast food options at Big Dipper are absolutely incredible.

A visit to The Big Dipper was a childhood staple for many in the Owensboro area, and the place is still going strong today. Always packed but reliably fast, it serves no-frills sloppy burgers, spicy chili, and thick milkshakes that are guaranteed to satiate a craving. Pretty much everyone around Owensboro has a story to tell about The Big Dipper, and it feels as delightfully old-school today as it did back in 1954.
