Mountain Dew woke up and thought, "Let's start a beef with the entire state of Indiana."

Mountain Dew's Social Media Presence

Mountain Dew is a popular soda owned by Pepsi, but the soda we know today actually started in the 1940s in Tennessee.  Mountain Dew is well known for its signature green color packaging and citrus flavor, but it often releases different variations of flavors, including the very popular Baja Blast.

Like all brands, they have a strong online presence and are no strangers to sharing a funny jab here or there.  The Mountain Dew Facebook page has 7.2 million followers and often shares memes that include their brand. Recently, though, they woke up and decided to throw some shade at the Hoosier State.

Mountain Dew Throws Shade at Indiana

Mountain Dew's official brand page recently shared a post to Facebook, and it made me laugh out loud, but also think "wait a minute, what did we do to you?!"  The post is a play on the popular "one must go" meme, where you put four things on a post and people must choose one that has to go.

The post had the following options:

  • A fingerboard
  • A house and a car
  • The entire state of Indiana
  • A can of Baja Blast Tropical Lime

The comments are mostly people just roasting  Indiana, and they are pretty dang funny.  And look, I get it, Indiana deserves a good roast. There are times when I see things that our state does, and I just shake my head.  But are we really THAT bad?!

Touche' Mountain Dew, touche',
