Some of the best-hidden gems are small-town diners. The popular food publication known as 'Love Food' recently released its list of America's Best Classic Diners. They described the diners that made the list as "gloriously retro, with old-school neon signs, bright bar stools, and plenty of tales to tell". Not every state had a diner that made this list of the best 33 classic diners in the country, but one Indiana diner with a pretty cool story made the cut.

The diner chosen for Indiana has a pretty unique history. It was actually built in New Jersey, and it was shipped to Indiana on a train in 1954. Located in Plainfield, Indiana, Oasis Diner not only has some pretty cool memorabilia from back in the day, but they also serve up some great food.

This fun and funky diner, located just west of Indianapolis, is the perfect place to go if you love all things vintage. Set in a stainless-steel dining car that dates back to the 1950s (it was carefully relocated and restored in 2014), the diner houses a collection of car license plates and old-school lunchboxes with Pac-Man, Barbie, and Mickey Mouse designs. Customers love the Oasis Burger, which comes piled high with two beef patties, pulled pork, bacon, barbecue sauce, coleslaw, pickles, and Cheddar.

On top of that, Oasis Diner makes its own sodas, which is just one of the things that sets this cute and colorful spot apart from the competition. Throw in wonderfully comforting and classic diner food and a TV playing old sitcoms and it’s pretty much guaranteed to be a great dining experience
