We have a lot of great restaurants scattered all throughout the state that serve up delicious breakfasts. Many of these places have become weekly traditions for breakfast among families. My personal experiences have shown that if you want a good breakfast, avoid the big chains. The best restaurants for breakfast in Indiana can be found at hole-in-the-wall local establishments. When it comes to the food served at these places, it's all over the place in terms of breakfast items. However, if you are asking me, there's one breakfast item that I will choose over the rest, and that is biscuits and gravy.

You really can't beat a delicious breakfast that consists of biscuits and gravy. Depending on the restaurant, biscuits and gravy can easily be the star of the show. That's why I was intrigued when I saw a post from Cheapism that listed the best biscuits and gravy at restaurants across America. This list wasn't one that featured a restaurant in each state. We're talking the best of the best here. Only 11 restaurants in the entire country were featured on this list. As it turns out, one of those restaurants that serve up the best biscuits and gravy can be found here in Kentucky.

If you want to get your hands on some of the best biscuits and gravy in the country, you might want to make a trip to Lexington, Kentucky. More specifically, you'll want to stop by the NoLi district of downtown Lexington to grab breakfast at Doodles Breakfast & Lunch. This local gem has been serving comfort food for 16 years, and there's not much more comforting than biscuits and gravy!

According to Doodles Breakfast & Lunch's website, this is what you can expect from their biscuits and gravy:

"Scratch made sausage gravy on top of a grilled biscuit, two local eggs, choice of cheese grits or fried potatoes."
