A teen on Reddit wants her money back from a friend who ditched a concert to play Roblox at home instead.

"On Sunday I went to a concert that I had been discussing with my friend, let's call her Lili. I have over 18 screenshots of me asking Lili if she was still good to pay. I even texted her the day before the concert, which she read but didn’t respond to. What should’ve been the first red flag was that she kept saying she 'forgot' the money every time I asked. The second red flag was when I asked my mom if Lili’s parents had contacted her, and my mom said no," the teen began.

"I even have a few receipts of her telling me that her parents wanted to talk to mine. Again, this was weird. Her not responding should’ve been the third and final red flag, but I’ve always been a kind person who gives people the benefit of the doubt. I thought, ‘Oh well, maybe she can’t text, or maybe she’s going and just hasn’t said so.’ Sunday comes around, and I’m sitting in the living room checking my phone and waiting," she continued.

The teen shared she reminded her friend multiple times about the concert, but Lili never replied. None of her other friends could attend either. The teen was frustrated because the tickets cost $150 ($75 each), and she couldn’t go to the city alone, which was why she needed a friend to accompany her.

"Friend B, let’s call her Debby, finally said yes after getting permission. I went to her house to pick her up, and as we were sitting in the car, Debby said, ‘You know Lili’s on Roblox, right?’ I asked, ‘Wait, are you serious?’ I checked my phone, and sure enough, Lili was on Roblox and active on Instagram," she continued.

After reaching out yet again, Lili claimed her mom had taken her phone away, prompting the Reddit user to confront her friend.

"If your mom took your phone, how were you playing Roblox and on Instagram the whole day? You even changed your status a few times with new songs. Weird, right? I told her, 'Well, you still need to pay.' She left me on ‘delivered.’ After the concert, I posted stories and videos on Instagram, and guess who viewed them all? Lili. But no phone, am I right?" the teen recounted.

Users in the comments section overwhelmingly sided with the frustrated teen, though they advised her she'll probably never get her money back from the flaky friend.

"You’ll likely never get the money. She’s not your friend. That’s the reality you need to face and learn to distance yourself from such people," one person wrote.

"But you’re never getting that money back. Don’t hitch your wagon to such a flake next time," another added.

"Seriously, good luck getting the money from her. If she’s willing to burn the friendship over $75, then she’s no friend to you," someone else chimed in.

"You can ask her to pay, but the chances of getting that money are slim. I’d write Lili off as an acquaintance not to be trusted and move on," another shared.
