Looking for a nice (and cheap) weekend getaway for you and your family this summer? This tubing adventure might be just what you're looking for!

There's a river excursion that you can take in the Smoky Mountain National Park that will only cost you $6. It's called Deep Creek in Bryson City, North Carolina. It's about an hour and twenty minutes from Gatlinburg. They have two different tubing options that you can choose from. You can either go white water-tubing or lazy river-tubing. Then, at the end of your trip, there's a huge swimming hole that you can take a dip into. Plus, it's in the Smoky Mountains, so the scenery is nothing short of beautiful.

According to Deep Creek, you can go tubing on this one-mile stretch of Deep Creek. You can choose from two different sections to go tubing in. Here's a quick glance at what you can expect from your tubing trip:

The upper section is narrower and offers the most white water. It also provides the most thrilling Deep Creek tubing. This is a wild, bouncy ride that can separate the rider from the tube, especially when the water is swift after a rain.

The lower section is wider and a bit calmer. It's perfect for younger kids and less-adventurous adults. Many of our campers continue tubing all the way back to the campground, just a half-mile downstream.

Swimming. Between the two sections you'll find one of the best natural swimming holes in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

They even have campsites and cabins there for you to stay at to enjoy a whole weekend of fun on Deer Creek. Tubing season starts Memorial Day and goes through Labor Day. That's plenty of time for you to plan a weekend to take the family for a fun weekend on the water. You can find out more about Deer Creek and what they have to offer at their website.
