Getting Fit: Tips for Joining a Gym
One of the most common resolutions for this and every year is to live healthier. For some, that may mean joining a gym, fitness club or other similar facility. Choosing the right facility may be the difference between success and failure. In order to help you choose one that is right for you, check out the following tips from your BBB®.
1.Shop around. Ask friends, co-workers and/or your physician for any recommendations they have, and look for reviews online. You may also want to check with your BBB to see whether or not the facility has any complaints against it.
2.Visit the facility. Once you have your options, visit each facility at the time of day when you’d be using it most often. Look to see how many people are working out at that time. Observe the environment to ensure that you’ll be comfortable working out there. In addition, you may wish to note the cleanliness of the facility and the condition of the equipment.
3. Ask questions. Find out how many members they have and whether or not there is a limit. If you are looking for professional help toward your fitness goals, you may want to ask about the qualifications of their trainers or instructors, and if the classes they teach will cost extra.
