Even as Game of Thrones has already featured a number of famous faces from the Harry Potter cast over the years, the HBO fantasy-drama remains shy of casting anyone too distractingly recognizable. Daniel Radcliffe himself might even be a step too far, but the erstwhile Boy Who Lived is just as happy to get a brutal death in the world of Westeros.

The possibility emerged in conversation with Digital Spy, as the Imperium star spoke candidly of his eclectic movie roster, and what it might take to bring him to TV. Several of Radcliffe’s co-stars have made homes on the small screen, including upcoming gigs for Rupert Grint and Tom Felton, though Radcliffe is hesitant about any more longterm contracts:

I’ve recently read a couple of really good TV pilot scripts. But then it’s signing on for seven years … Right now, I have a little bit of freedom. So if I read a script for something that’s filming next year, I don’t have to turn it down because I’m not available - which I did, for a long time.

That said, Radcliffe is of course open to a brief Game of Thrones appearance, especially if it meant a memorable exit:

I would love to. If they want to just bring me in and f**king kill me, I would be happy to do that.

It isn’t outside the realm of possibility, as Game of Thrones has featured musicians and other notable cameos in minor, or obscured roles. Still, given that production on Season 7 is already in full swing, it would seem unlikely of producers to take Radcliffe up on his offer anytime before Season 8.

Surely George R.R. Martin would appreciate the opportunity to murder Harry Potter, but what other surprises might Game of Thrones’ future hold in store?
