Free Adult Crafting Program Offered in Newburgh, IN
I love making fun crafts, especially this time of year! It’s always a blast creating spooky spiders and wicked witches. So, when I heard about a free crafting club in Newburgh, I had to learn more.
The Newburgh Chandler Public Library on Bell Rd. hosts an adult crafting program on the first Monday of each month, and this month’s craft is a cute book witch!
I called the library and chatted with Daniel Smith about the program. He shared that they had regular craft nights before the pandemic and have been running it for about three years now. “It’s pretty popular, and we often have to cap it at 25-30 people,” he said. “They fill up every month!”
The post mentioned that you need to call 812-853-5468 ex 316 to sign up and you must be 18 or older.

Daniel mentioned that Kim Gilliam creates a new craft each month, and the library provides all the supplies. Once you’re signed up, she walks you through making your own version.
Curious about what else the Newburgh library offers for adults, I asked Daniel. He told me they have two new book clubs: a Sci-Fi/Fantasy club and a Historical Fiction club, both meeting on Thursdays. They’ve also started an adult Dungeons and Dragons night, which is growing with multiple regular attendees.
The Newburgh Chandler Library also offers children's and teen crafts as well.
You don’t need a library card to join these activities, but you do need one to check out books. Check out your local library for some great events!
