Whether you call it soda or pop, when you order concessions at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana, you will be getting Pepsi products.

Why Do I Have to Choose?

It might seem a little extreme, but I know people that will not eat at certain restaurants because of the brand of soda they offer. I usually just drink water, so it doesn't really bother me. But why in the world can we not just have both of the big-name brands in one spot?

Event venues typically enter into exclusive beverage contracts with either Coca-Cola or PepsiCo, which grants the chosen beverage company exclusive rights to be the sole provider of soft drinks, water, and other non-alcoholic beverages at the venue. These contracts are often very lucrative for both parties involved and can provide a significant revenue stream for the venue. Therefore, the venue must choose one company over the other, and they cannot carry both Coca-Cola and PepsiCo products. This exclusivity agreement ensures that the chosen beverage company can maximize its sales and marketing efforts, while also providing the venue with a reliable source of income from concession sales.

What Other Drinks Does This Include?

If you are sad about Coke no longer being offered at the Ford Center, you might be excited to know that Mt. Dew and Diet Mt. Dew will be new options.
