Food Servers Getting Tipped Big with The 2020 Tip Challenge
Many food service workers are getting a GREAT start to their new year thanks to the generosity of some well-to-do patrons. A server at an Illinois IHOP got a very generous tip, thanks to Donnie Wahlberg.
Wahlberg gave an galactic $2,020 tip to his server on a $78.46 bill. Wahlberg's wife, actress Jenny McCarthy, tweeted out a picture of the receipt with #2020tipchallenge.
The first person to announce they received a #2020challenge tip was a single mother in Michigan. Waitress Danielle Franzoni received a $2,020 tip from a customer. “Happy New Year,” Franzoni's receipt read, as well as a message to others in good fortune, “2020 Tip Challenge.”
Franzoni nearly fainted when she saw the amount written on the tip line and had to ask her manager was it real or not. It DEFINITELY was!
“They don’t know nothing about my story. They don’t know where I’ve come from. They don’t know how hard it’s been,” Franzoni said. “They’re really just doing this out of the kindness of their heart.”
When I was a delivery driver for Spudz N Stuff, I once received a $20 tip on Christmas Eve and one of my co-workers once got a $100 tip on a large catering order. What's the most money YOU'VE ever given or received for a tip?
