If you have seen the TSA PreCheck option when going through airport security, you probably thought that it was only for VIP travelers. But actually, most travelers can qualify for the quicker screening with proper enrollment.

What is TSA PreCheck?

TSA PreCheck gives you the freedom to keep your shoes on through airport security. Some people absolutely hate the thought of taking their shoes off, even if it is just long enough to walk through security. I always feel like I'm going to trip and fall or just forget to put them back on. For that reason alone, TSA PreChek might be worth the price.

  • Keep your shoes on
  • Your laptop can stay in its bag
  • Keep your belt on
  • 3-1-1 liquids can stay in your bag
  • Keep your light jacket on

This can save you time getting through security and closer to that pre-flight snack or drink.

How Much Does TSA PreCheck Cost?

There is a fee for the service, but you could be eligible for certain discounts. It will cost you $78 and that will keep you eligible for up to five years. Obviously, this doesn't guarantee your status if you do something to kick yourself off of the list.

Here are some of the credit cards that offer specials with TSA PreCheck:
