K9 Taro 2K94 Evansville Police Department
Taro came to the Evansville Police Department from the Czech Republic. Taro, known in scanner radio traffic as 2K94, bonded quickly with his handler Officer Jared Reidford. K9 officers become a part of the family, as well as the officer's partner. So, this loss is extremely difficult for the Reidford family.
Czech German Shepherds are known for their intelligence, strength, and loyalty. They are amazing, working with tremendous drive while boasting sweet dispositions and personalities. They are commonly used in the military and for police work because of their intelligence, agility, strong work ethic, and tracking ability. The Czech German Shepherd is a line of the German Shepherd breed that goes back to the first officially registered German Shepherd, Horand von Grafrath.
