Evansville Police announced late Wednesday night a second arrest had been made in connection with the investigation while revealing both suspects are juveniles.


 

ORIGINAL STORY: WEDNESDAY, JULY 18TH AT 1:17 P.M.

Evansville Police announce the arrest the suspect they believe is responsible for the deadly shooting early Wednesday morning at Sam's Market on Washington Avenue.

According to the Department's Twitter feed, officers were following a lead on the case at a home in the 600 block of East Chandler Street when an "unknown occupant" began firing shots.

Upon arriving on the scene, crisis negotiators and attempted to persuade anyone inside to surrender. When that didn't work, SWAT team members "deployed a chemical agent" into the residence hoping to flush out anyone inside.

At 12:35, the Department announced the situation had ended.

Roughly 20 minutes later, Police announced they had located the suspect a few blocks southeast on South Linwood Avenue.
