The Class of 2021 is getting some good news this morning here in Daviess County.  They are going to get to have prom, something the Class of 2020 didn't get the chance to fully experience due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.  DCPS has released the official prom schedule for each high school in the system.

It's as follows, according to a news release sent earlier this morning:

The Heritage Park High School prom will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, April 16, at the Boys and Girls Club gymnasium at Buckland Square. This year's theme is “Shine Bright Like a Diamond.”

The Apollo High School Eagles will celebrate prom from 7 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, April 24.  They're having their dance under the tent at the Apollo High School Eagle Stadium area. The 2021 theme is “A Night to Remember.”

And the Daviess County High School Panthers will host their prom from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, April 24, at the DCHS Football Stadium, which was recently renovated and is awesome.

Due to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic recommendations and restrictions, all DCPS prom activities will follow health and safety guidelines.  Those guidelines include temperature check upon arrival and masks will be required except when sitting at assigned tables etc.

I vividly recall our senior prom at Daviess County High School.  Yes!  It was way back in 1989.  My prom date Amy and I went to see Natalie Cole at the Executive Inn, then went to the dance.  Of course, we then went to the after-prom party at the high school, which was an absolute blast. I don't remember much about that party, but I'm pretty sure there was Jell-O wrestling.   In the high school gym.  LOL.  Ah!  Memories.  Those memories are so incredibly important and we're thrilled that students are going to get the chance to create those this year.
