IDW And DC Announce ‘Batman/TMNT Adventures’ [SDCC 2016]
James Tynion IV and Freddie E. Williams II's Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover was one of the best comic books of the year, and if you doubt that, consider that there was a scene where Shredder and Ra's Al-Ghul used mutagen on Batman's enemies and turned Mr. Freeze into a polar bear. If you can think of a comic where something better than that happened, then folks, I want to hear about it.
The only downside was that it ended after only six issues. Now, though, it looks like we're going to get a sequel --- sort of. Today at San Diego Comic-Con, IDW and DC announced Batman/TMNT Adventures, a second crossover between the Dark Knight and the Heroes in a Half-Shell --- and this time, it's set in the animated universes of both characters.
Ask Chris #290: Picking A Starter Pokemon
Q: Which starter are you going to choose in Pokemon Sun and Moon, and why? -- @MikePogdor
A: You know, there's a part of me that really wants to hold off and weigh all the available options equally before I make this decision. Even if I'm not the kind of person to calculate who's going to give me the best type advantage when it comes time to battle my way through the gym leaders and teach the Elite Four a brutal lesson in humility, I should at least wait to see what their final evolutions --- you know, the ones I'm going to be stuck with through about 90% of the game --- are going to be before I commit.
But like pretty much everyone else, I've already decided. I mean, there could be one of these things that literally evolved into a hundred dollar bill and somehow popped off the screen and directly into my wallet, but if that thing didn't start out life as a tiny little bird wearing a leaf as a bowtie, then folks, I am never going to know about it.
‘Wonder Woman 77′ Shows You How To Solve All Your Problems The Wonder Woman Way: With Elephants [Preview]
One thing that I think we can all appreciate about Wonder Woman is that she's a very creative problem solver. Just look at her signature moves: Anyone can have a plane, but an invisible plane is pretty unique, and while anyone can dodge bullets --- anyone in the superhero genre, I mean --- deflecting them with a pair of Amazonium bracelets isn't just flashier, it makes a statement. Her solutions always tend take things one step further.
In next week's Wonder Woman '77 Chapter 17, though, in which Christos N. Gage, Ruth Fletcher Gage, Dario Brizuela and Andres Ponce continue the adventures of the classic Lynda Carter television series, her solution doesn't just take things a step further, it goes for a full-on stampede. Check out a preview below!
The ‘Lego Batman’ Movie Will Ask ‘Can Batman Be Happy?’
I'm going to be real with you, folks: even though we're looking down the barrel of 38 superhero movies over the next few years, the one that I'm looking forward to the most is easily Lego Batman, starring Will Arnett as the Caped and Blocky Crusader. It's been something I've been looking for ever since it was announced, but now, I've got an even bigger reason to want to see it, because we finally have a detail about the plot.
According to a red carpet interview with Arnett, along with cowriters and directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord, the 2017 Batman movie will focus on answering one question: Can Batman be happy?
