What is a Horror Convention?

A horror convention has been announced for Evansville in 2023, and as someone who LOVES horror, this is right up my alley! But if you aren't familiar with horror conventions, you may be wondering what a horror con would entail.

Wikipedia describes a horror convention a little more eloquently than I could have:

Horror conventions are gatherings of the community of fans of various forms of horror including horror cinema, goth lifestyle, and occasionally science fiction and fantasy. Historically the focus has been on the cinematic form rather than literature and art, but this has broadened to include all forms in recent years.

And now us horror lovers can celebrate our favorite spooky things in 2023 when a horror convention comes to Evansville!

Evansville Paranormal/Horror Con

Raptor Con in Evansville announced that they're adding another convention to their roster for 2023, and it will be a paranormal / horror convention.   Here is what the announcement said:

The secret is out! Raptor Con is expanding and it’s all thanks to you. One of the biggest request we get is a second themed convention, so EVANSVILLE HORROR/PARANORMAL CON is coming in 2023. That’s right Raptor Con will be hosting two separate conventions in Evansville in 2023. PLUS we will also be expanding to a few other cities. Where do you think we are going?

There isn't a date for the upcoming horror con just yet, but as soon as we hear of one we will definitely let you know! Along with this announcement was a graphic that said we can expect to see celebrity guests, vendors, and special programs.  A convention dedicated to all things horror and it's in my hometown? I cannot wait!
