Your Pokemon GO Adventures Can Benefit a Local Animal Rescue!

Kat found a lifehack that will let you donate to a local animal rescue just for walking around playing Pokemon GO!

Inevitably, you are probably playing Pokemon GO as we speak but did you know there is another app that tracks how far you walk, and then donates to an animal shelter of your choice? Why not run it in the background while you are adventuring out into augmented reality???

Check out Walk for a Dog in Google Play or iTunes. It's a free download and easy to get started. You enter your name, email address and details about your dog - name, breed, age. (I made one up because I don't have a dog) Then you select the shelter you want to benefit from your walks. All of our local shelters are included as options in the app:

• Evansville Vanderburgh Animal Care and Control
• It Takes a Village Canine Rescue
• Vanderburgh Humane Society
• Warrick Humane Society
• PC Pound Puppies

So now, you can go forth and adventure and make a difference in the life of a homeless animal! Just be sure that you open Walk for a Dog, and click "start walking" before you head out to Pokemon!
