Young Girl Suffering from Progeria Thanks Selena Gomez for Visiting

Just before Christmas last year, Selena Gomez took time out of her crazy schedule to visit Hana Hwang, a fan in a Los Angeles Hospital suffering from Progeria. The meeting was setup by Ryan Seacrest after learning of Hana's condition and her love of all things Selena. The encounter was such a memorable moment for Hana, she released a video thank you from her hospital bed.

Hana is only 13 years old, but appears much older due to her dianosis. Progeria is a genetic disease affecting children that causes them to age at a rate of 8 to 10 years faster than a normal child. According to the Progeria Research Foundation, the rare disease has "a reported incidence of about 1 in 4 - 8 million newborns". One of those affected is Sara Kennedy, the granddaughter of Donut Bank owner, Chris Kempf. There is no cure at this time.
