Women's Equality Day is happening later this summer on August. 26th. We are fortunate to have a number of different events happening around the Tri-State. One of these events is a luncheon taking place at the Old National Events Plaza on August 25th.

Earlier today, the Women's Equality Day Committee announced the keynote speaker for this luncheon and that person is Negin Farsad. She's accumulated several accolades including being named one of "50 Funniest Women" by Huffington Post and also appearing on NPR's Wait..Wait, Don't Tell Me.

Tickets for the luncheon will be $25 per person with tables available for corporate and organizations. More information on how to purchase tickets will be coming soon.

You can check out clip from her film The Muslims Are Coming below!

Women’s Equality Day Committee announces keynote speaker for Aug. 25 luncheon

The 15th Annual Women’s Equality Day keynote speaker is Negin Farsad, an Iranian-American Muslim comedian, writer and filmmaker. Throughout her work, Farsard uses comedy to dispel myths about being an Iranian-American woman in the United States. Named one of 50 Funniest Women by the Huffington Post and one of the 10 Best Feminist Comedians by Paste Magazine, Farsad was most recently featured on NPR’s Wait, Wait … Don’t Tell Me. Farsad also presented at the 2015 TEDWomen conference and was selected as a TEDFellow for her work in social justice comedy. In her feature film, The Muslims Are Coming!, Farsad leads a group of Muslim-American comedians on a comedy tour through Middle America using humor to open minds and counter Islamophobia.

Save the date!
