Why Doesn’t MTV Play Music Videos Anymore?

If you grew up watching MTV, chances are you weren't watching '16 & Pregnant' and 'Jersey Shore'.  Most likely you were actually watching music.  Not sure if you know this or not but MTV does stand for "Music Television".  Anymore it's like what the heck MTV? Now their name should be 'Trashy Reality Shows TV' but we all know that isn't going to happen.  So this girl who was fed up with it decided to as the "Network Head" of MTV, his answer may surprise you.

Just like the girl in this music video I remember growing up watching MTV.  I loved TRL (Seriously, we should bring this back!) and Headbangers Ball, that was another show on MTV I watched religiously growing up.  But MTV goes even further then the 90's.  My Mom remembers watching MTV in the 80's and seeing the infamous premier of Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' which redefined music videos forever.

Now MTV is 'Jersey Shore', '16 & Pregnant', 'Teen Mom', and 'J Wow and Snooki'.  Essentially reality tv-palooza.  Apparently this girl feels the same way as I do, so she went on to as the Network Head of MTV...well sorta.  It's not actually the Network Head, but I'm sure his answer wouldn't be much different.
