What Are Indiana’s Hottest Jobs?

Indiana residents may want to consider saving lives, unclogging toilets or becoming professional drug dealers (more commonly referred to as pharmacists) if they want to land a career with the most opportunity, according to the latest Hoosier Hot 50 Jobs list.

Last week, the Indiana Department of Workforce Development released its annual list of the most wanted and well-paying jobs the state currently has to offer - most of which are in the medical field requiring a two-year degree or higher.

Interestingly, this year’s list took a dramatic turn, as 20 of the positions that made last year’s “Hot 50” have been replaced with 20 new jobs. In fact, only three of this year’s top 10 even made the cut last time around.

Topping this year’s highest paid on the Hot 50 list were dentists, with an annual salary of nearly $163,500. Incidentally, dental assistants earned the least amount of money of anyone on the list – earning about $34,400.
