More than 1,800 armbands for upcoming Franklin Street events were stolen and the Events Association needs your help.

The Franklin Street Events Association took to Facebook to warn people to be on the look out for armbands that were stolen for the upcoming Gumbo Cook-off and Mardi Gras events. The Association warns:

Last night over 1,800 armbands for the gumbo cook off and Mardi Gras were stolen. We have reported to the police and local news media. Please be on the look-out in the community for anybody trying to sell these. We are ordering NEW armbands with different markings/colors. ARMBANDS NOT PURCHASED AT FRANKLIN STREET LOCATIONS WILL NOT BE VALID!!!


The Vanderburgh County Prosecutor's Office is encouraging any one with any information on this crime to please call WeTip 1-800-78-CRIME. It is anonymous and your name and number will not be revealed
