If you live on Evansville's north side, and own a cat or two (or 10), the Vanderburgh County Humane Society is giving you the opportunity to have your kitty spayed or neutered for free thanks to a grant from PetSmart Charities.

The "Cat Snip in Your Zip" program provides cat owners the opportunity to keep their kitties from contributing to the already overgrown pet population by offering to "fix" them at no charge.

At this time, only cat owners in Evansville's 47710 zip code are eligible. Whether or not this offer will be extended to other zip codes in the city has not been announced.

The service will continue until funds run out. To make your appointment, simply call 812-426-2563 or e-mail L.futrell@vhslifesaver.org. You must show proof of residence within the 47710 code to qualify for the service.
