Enjoy freshly prepared, delicious food, and help out a great cause in SMILE on Down Syndrome this Sunday during tASTe competition with the University of Southern Indiana's Alpha Sigma Tau sorority.

The event takes place on the lawn of the Franklin Street Library on Evansville's west side and will run from Noon until 3:00 p.m. The event will feature teams of four to six people preparing a dish of their choice using either chicken or beef  with each team getting 15 minutes to develop their idea and prep, then 40 minutes to actually cook the dish (think Food Network's, Chopped, only no one gets eliminated).

The event is open to public and allows those in attendance to sample the dishes for a $7.00 donation to SMILE. Each team will also have a bucket at their station for additional donations. The extra money raised by each team will be factored into the decision by a panel of judges in determining the winner.

Alpha Sigma Tau will continue accept team registrations for the event through Friday. Registration is $35 per team.

The event will also feature a cornhole tournament, and a silent auction throughout the day. Registration for the cornhole tournament is still open for teams of two at $10 per team.

For more information on the event, or to register for either the cooking competition, or the cornhole tourney, contact Miranda Searl at msearl@eagles.usi.edu.
