One of the entrepreneurs behind D8, Evansville's first "Board Game Cafe" called into The Rob's Radio Show With Maddie West and offered a update on the venture!

Over the last day or so, a Facebook page with the name "Evansville Board Game Cafe" opened.  With a fun default image consisting of boxes upon glorious boxes of board games (games like Sorry, Chutes & Ladders, Operation, and more), the page made their first post early this morning (February 20th, 2018) claiming that the cafe is "coming," although no more information was provided regarding when.  You can see their post, which will also explain what exactly a board game cafe is, below:

The post got a lot of buzz here locally.  Maddie and I were talking about this on the show this morning, even dedicating a whole topic to it, "What is your favorite board game?"  (The runaway seemed to be "Clue," by the way.)

During the discussion, a woman named Lindsey called in claiming to be behind this group (along with her boyfriend), and offered a bit of an update.  She told us this morning:

"We're hoping by fall to have it open, and we're looking in the downtown area."

They have also elaborated on this slightly in this post:
