The first place University of Evansville Purple Aces baseball team is inviting all youth baseball players in the 8th grade or younger to enjoy their weekend series against visiting Bradley University for free this weekend!

The Aces will host the Braves at 6pm on Friday evening, April 25th, Saturday, April 26th at 2pm, and one last time on Sunday, April 27th at 1pm. Youth baseball players from the Evansville area will get free admission to any or all three games if they were their teams uniform to the game.

Friday night's game may be of particular interest for those who follow the Aces as junior Kyle Freeland is scheduled to start at pitcher. Recently named "college baseball's fastest-rising draft prospect" by the Wall Street Journal, Freeman has seven wins and just one loss on the year, having served up 87 strikeouts and just four walks in 64 innings while touting an amazing 1.83 earned run average. According to the Journal, his strike-out to walk ratio is double that of current Washington National ace, Stephen Strasburg, who the article calls one "of the most heralded college pitching prospect in recent history."
