Traffic Alert – Lane Restrictions Coming for 3 Evansville Streets

The Evansville Police Department is alerting drivers of upcoming lane restrictions on three different streets within the city that will require drivers to slow down or reroute their normal path altogether.

According to a post on their Facebook page late Wednesday morning, the following streets will either have lane restrictions in place or be closed entirely for various amounts of time as crews work on a variety of different projects.

Bergdolt Road between Oak Hill Road and Hitch-Peters Road

According to the EPD:

Starting next Monday 8/14/2017 Vectren will be closing one lane of Bergdolt Road between Oak Hill Road and Hitch-Peters Road. There will be access through with flaggers in place. The restrictions should be limited to between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. These restrictions are expected to last until Friday 8/18/17.

Harriet Street Intersection South of West Virginia Street

According to the EPD:

Harriet St. intersection south of W. Virginia St. will be closed starting Monday, 8/14/17. This will be closed for only 1 day.
Harriet St. and Garfield St. intersections north of W. Virginia St. are now open. This leaves every intersection open on W. Virginia St. from 1st Ave to Main St.

Red Bank Road between Upper Mt. Vernon and New Harmony

According to the EPD:

On Wednesday, August 9, road patching will start on Red Bank Road between Upper Mt. Vernon Road and New Harmony Road. Motorists are urged to use caution when traveling through the construction zone and to be aware of potential slowed traffic. After the road patching is complete, milling and resurfacing of Red Bank Road will be done. A follow up notice will be sent out once the schedule for the milling and resurfacing has been determined. The completion date for this project is September 1, 2017 (weather permitting).

Maybe the day will come when we all have flying cars, and we won’t have to worry about leaving for work early because there’s road construction. Until that day comes, we’ll just have to makes plans to deal with it.
