There are 564 high schools in the state of Indiana, and according to data from the website, Niche.com, several of the best are right here in the Tri-State!

Niche constantly pulls data from a variety of sources, including the U.S. Department of Education, the National Center for Education Statistics, and more such as Civil Rights and Common Core data, as well as reviews of each school provided by students and parents. That data is then analyzed using "advanced algorithms and statistical techniques to compare, score, and connect millions of data points" in order to form their list.

After searching through all 564 schools, I plucked out those from the Evansville and the surrounding Tri-State area to see how they stack up. Unsurprisingly, they stack up really well to schools across the state, with many landing within the top third of the state.

Here they are in order of how they rank locally, followed by they're state ranking in either the public or private school category.

  1. Signature (#2 Public)
  2. Memorial (#14 Private)
  3. Mater Dei (#32 Private)
  4. Castle (#38 Public)
  5. Gibson Southern (#51 Public)
  6. New Tech Institute (#53 Public)
  7. North (#56 Public)
  8. Central (#69 Public)
  9. Heritage Hills (#74 Public)
  10. Southridge (#75 Public)

Other Tri-State schools on the list, just outside the top 10, were Reitz (#83 Public), Mt. Vernon (#120 Public), Harrison (#130 Public), Tell City (#131 Public), Bosse, South Spencer, North Posey, Princeton Community High School, and Boonville.

Congratulations to the students, parents, teachers, administrators, and everyone else affiliated with these schools, and thank you to all the schools in the Tri-State for what you do each day to help young people in the area prepare for the future!
